QuickBooks and QuickBooks Pro 4.5 (Release 17)

This update makes several minor improvements to QuickBooks and
QuickBooks Pro 4.5. In addition to new changes, it incorporates
all previously-released changes to the software.

To print this document, from the File menu, select Print.

To update your copy of QuickBooks to Release 17:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Back up your company file(s). For instructions on backing up 
   your data, search the Help Index under "backups".

2. Exit QuickBooks.

3. Make sure the update disk is in your floppy drive.

4. (Windows 95 or 98) Click the "Start" button, then choose "Run".

   (Windows 3.1) From the "File" menu of the Program Manager,
                 choose "Run".

5. Type the letter of your floppy drive, then:

   :\setup.exe

   (for example, "a:\setup.exe").

6. The update should automatically locate QuickBooks on your hard
   drive. If it does not, it will prompt you to navigate to your
   QuickBooks directory.

7. Follow the instructions on your screen.

I. Canada Pension Plan / Quebec Pension Plan Payroll Update

This patch updates the QuickBooks payroll system to work with
future tax tables. QuickBooks Payroll Compliance Service
subscribers must install this patch for QuickBooks to use any
tax table after the July 1999 release.

In rare instances, the QuickFill feature could display a "10"
instead of the current year when filling in a date for a user.
This patch updates the QuickFill feature to fill in the year
correctly.
